Q: It’s reported that Taiwan has officially set up a representative office in Slovak. What’s your comment?

   A: The Chinese Government is resolutely opposed to any official relations or exchanges between Taiwan and countries having diplomatic ties with China. The Government of Slovak has clearly vowed to strictly abide by the One China principle enshrined in the Joint Declaration and Communique on the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between China and Slovak. The office of Taiwan in Slovak is unofficial and non-governmental. The Government of Slovak won’t have any official exchanges with Taiwan. Any attempt to destroy the friendly relations between China and Slovak will get nowhere.
