PRAGUE, Dec. 10 (Xinhuanet) -- Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao met here on Friday with Premysl Sobltka, the Czech Senate President, and Lubomir Zaoralek, the President of the Chamber of Deputies, respectively.

During the meetings, Wen said the Czech Republic is among those countries who are first to recognize the People's Republic of China, and the relations between the two countries, despite some twists, have been advancing in the past 56 years.

The Chinese premier said the Sino-Czech relationship needs the support from the legislatures of both countries.

He said he hoped that the legislatures from the two countries would enhance exchanges, thus playing a more active role in deepening the friendship and cooperation between the two countries and the two peoples.

Sobltka said Wen's visit brought many good news to the development of the Czech-China relations, and the Czech Senate backs the consensus and agreements reached at Wen's current tour.

The Senate President also said the Czech Senate is willing to increase contacts and exchanges with China's National People's Congress, so as to promote the cooperation between the two countries.

Zaoralek said at the meeting that all parties at Czech's Chamber of Deputies have a consensus that the Czech-China relations have a bright future, and it is of vital importance to deepen cooperation with China.

Czech's Chamber of Deputies and all parties within the chamber adhere to the one-China policy, Zaoralek stressed. Enditem
