On December 12, 2011, Assistant Foreign Minister Liu Zhenmin exchanged the instruments of ratification of the Treaty on Criminal Judicial Assistance between the People's Republic of China and Malta with Ambassador of Malta Joseph Cassar in Beijing and signed the certificate for the exchange of the instruments of ratification. The Treaty will take effect on January 11, 2012, or the 30th day after the instruments of ratification is exchanged.
