On February 3, 2012, Vice Foreign Minister Cheng Guoping had a meeting with Karimova, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the Forum of Culture and Arts of Uzbekistan Foundation.

Cheng spoke highly of the achievements of bilateral relations and expressed appreciations for the contributions made by the Forum of Culture and Arts of Uzbekistan Foundation to deepening the cultural cooperation and promoting the non-governmental exchanges between the two countries. He said that China is willing to make concerted efforts with the Uzbek side to fully implement the consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, further enhance mutual political trust, deepen pragmatic cooperation, expand cultural and people-to-people exchanges, and lift the Sino-Uzbek partnership of friendly cooperation to a new level.

Karimova said that the Foundation is willing to carry out muti-form and content-rich cooperation with related Chinese agencies, strengthen cultural and people-to-people exchanges with China, carry forward bilateral friendship from generation to generation, and promote the comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.
