Yu Zhengsheng Meets with Zambian President

On April 10, 2013, Yu Zhengsheng, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), met with visiting Zambian President Michael Chilufya Sata in Diaoyutai State Guesthouse.

Yu said Sino-Zambian traditional friendship is the common wealth for both countries. He said during President Sata's visit to China, the leaders of the two countries reached broad consensus on the Sino-Zambian relations and pragmatic cooperation and signed a series of important cooperation agreements. Yu expressed his belief that bilateral traditional friendship will be carried forward and bring concrete benefits to both sides.

Yu briefed Sata on China's reform and opening-up process and its political system, noting that the CPPCC will intensify personnel exchanges with the Zambian side. He urged both sides to strengthen exchanges of experience regarding democracy, legal system, social and economic development and discuss cooperation in various forms in order to boost national development on both sides and build up bilateral friendship.

Sata said China and Zambia are traditionally friendly countries and China now has advantages in terms of market, capital and technology that remain the envy of the world. Zambia welcomes Chinese companies to step up their investment in the country. He added that Zambia wishes to expand cooperation with China in multiple fields.
