Vice Foreign Minister Cheng Guoping Holds Consultation with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov

On December 23, 2013, Vice Foreign Minister Cheng Guoping held a consultation with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov in Moscow, having in-depth exchanges of views on the development of bilateral relations, the arrangement of high-level exchanges next year and relevant regional and international issues.

The two sides unanimously agreed to further strengthen consultations, coordination, and cooperation between the foreign ministries of the two countries, to make good preparations for the next-year’s high-level exchanges, to implement a series of important cooperative consensus and agreements reached by the leaders of the two countries without any reservation, and to well-play the role of the high-level exchanges between the two countries in both strategic guidance and positive promotion of the development of the bilateral relations, so as to maintain the good momentum of sustained, healthy and stable development of the China-Russia comprehensive strategic coordination partnership.

The two sides agreed to strengthen various cooperation within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), to deepen China-Russia strategic coordination in other regional and international affairs, to respond positively to the complex changes of the situation, to safeguard common interests of China and Russia as well as international fairness and justice so as to promote peace, security and stability of both the region and the world.
