President of Tanzania Meets with Jiang Weixin, Special Envoy of President Xi Jinping

On January 12, 2014, President Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete of Tanzania met with Jiang Weixin, Special Envoy of President Xi Jinping and Minister of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, at the Presidential Palace of Zanzibar.

Jiang Weixin conveyed the sincere greetings and best wishes from President Xi Jinping to Kikwete and expressed warm congratulations on the 50th anniversary of the victory of Zanzibar Revolution. Jiang Weixin said, China and Tanzania enjoy profound traditional friendship. China has provided help within the ability for national construction of Tanzania, while Tanzania has always provided precious support on issues concerning China's core concerns. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of China-Tanzania diplomatic relationship. China is ready to work with Tanzania to fully deepen friendly cooperation in all fields so as to push forward China-Tanzania comprehensive cooperative partnership of mutual benefit and win-win outcomes constantly to new highs.

Kikwete thanked President Xi Jinping for sending Special Envoy Jiang Weixin to attend the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the victory of Zanzibar Revolution and asked the Special Envoy to convey his sincere greetings to President Xi Jinping. Kikwete said that for a long time, China has provided selfless support for Tanzania's economic and social development. The outcomes of bilateral cooperation can be seen everywhere. Hope the two countries will further strengthen cooperation in urban planning and other fields to achieve more fruitful outcomes.
