Li Yuanchao Meets with US Guest

  On January 22, 2014, Chinese Vice President Li Yuanchao met with US Deputy Secretary of State William Burns in Beijing.

  Li Yuanchao said that this year marks the 35th anniversary of the establishment of China-US diplomatic relationship. The two sides should further implement the important consensus reached between the two heads of state, firmly grasp the direction of building a new model of major-country relations between China and the US, actively expand practical cooperation in all fields, properly manage and control differences and sensitive issues, boost all-round exchanges at all levels, and promote the benign development of China-US relations.

  William Burns said that good US-China relationship is not only very important to the two countries, but also of great significance to the world. The US is committed to promoting positive and all-round cooperation with China to make joint efforts in building a new model of major-country relations between the US and China.
