Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Ming Holds a Group Meeting with Envoys of African Countries to China

On January 24, 2014, Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Ming held a group meeting with envoys of African countries to China. Ambassadors and representatives from 44 African countries to China attended the meeting.

Zhang Ming informed the envoys of the relevant information on Foreign Minister Wang Yi's visits to four African countries, including Ethiopia, Djibouti, Ghana and Senegal, the progress of the follow-up actions after the fifth Ministerial Conference of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) and so on, and said that he is willing to join hands with the African side to jointly well-host the tenth Senior Officials' Meeting of FOCAC and the sixth Ministerial Conference of FOCAC, pushing China-Africa relations to new levels continuously.

On behalf of the envoys, Head of the African Diplomatic Missions to China Nolana Ta Ama and Rosemary Mashaba, Minister of South Africa, the co-chair country of the Forum, to China made speeches, highly appreciated China's active implementation of the follow-up actions after the fifth Ministerial Conference of FOCAC, made positive comments on Foreign Minister Wang Yi's visits to Africa and said that they are willing to make joint efforts with China to strengthen the construction of the Forum, opening up a bright future for the new type of China-Africa strategic partnership.
