Foreign Minister Wang Yi Meets with Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bildt

On February 25, 2014, Foreign Minister Wang Yi met in Beijing with visiting Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bildt, who was attending “Stockholm China Forum” in China.

Wang Yi said that the current China-Sweden relations witness a sound development with fruitful results in cooperation in economy and trade, green energy, biomedical engineering, telecommunications and other fields, and close communication and coordination in international and regional affairs. China is willing to work with the Swedish side to promote the China-Sweden relationship to achieve new progresses continuously on the basis of the principles of mutual respect and equal treatment.

Carl Bildt said that the two countries have enjoyed constant advancement in practical cooperation in economy, trade, scientific research and other fields, and huge potential for cooperation in environmental protection, pollution control and others. Sweden attaches great importance to developing relations with China, and is willing to join efforts with the Chinese side to comprehensively promote mutually beneficial cooperation.

Both sides also exchanged views on the international and regional topics of common interest.
