Prime Minister Ali Zeidan of Libya Meets with Ambassador Wu Sike, Special Envoy of China on Middle East Issue

On March 6, 2014, Prime Minister Ali Zeidan of Libya met with Ambassador Wu Sike, the Special Envoy of China on the Middle East Issue, who was in Rome, Italy attending the Ministerial Conference on International Support to Libya. Both sides exchanged views on bilateral relationship and the issue of post-war reconstruction in Libya.

Ali Zeidan said that Libya attaches great importance to Libya-China relations, and is grateful for the Chinese side for its consistent selfless support to Libya, and is willing to continue strengthening bilateral cooperation in various fields. Libya hopes that more Chinese enterprises can return to Libya as soon as possible to take part in Libya's reconstruction and lay a good foundation for promoting the steady development of the bilateral cooperation.

Wu Sike said that China cherishes the traditional friendship with Libya, and appreciates the Libyan government's great efforts in advancing the process of political transition and economic reconstruction, as well as the achieved positive progress. China encourages Chinese enterprises to actively participate in Libya's economic reconstruction, continuously strengthen bilateral cooperation in all areas, and push for healthy and stable development of the bilateral relations.
