China Decides to Continually Step up Search and Rescue Efforts and Send Team of Technical Experts to Malaysia

On the afternoon of March 14, the Joint Inter-Ministerial Mechanism on the safety of overseas Chinese citizens and institutions held the third meeting at the Foreign Ministry, discussing the search and rescue operations and response measures on the missing Malaysia Airlines flight.

The meeting has decided to continue to step up the search and rescue efforts, to expand the search scope of the previously suspected waters, and to dispatch some search and rescue forces to conduct operations in the Strait of Malacca right away.

The meeting also concluded that a team of technical experts from departments including Civil Aviation Administration and Ministry of Transport, would head for Malaysia as soon as possible to cooperate with and support the Malaysian side to conduct relevant work.
