On March 19, 2014, Director-General of the Department of Consular Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Huang Ping and Director Christophe Bouchard of the Department of Overseas Civil Affairs and Consular Administration of the French Foreign Ministry held the first round of China-France consular consultations in Beijing. Both sides had an in-depth exchange of views on strengthening consular cooperation, facilitating personnel exchange, safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of citizens of both countries and other issues. The consultation achieved positive results.
