Xi Jinping Leaves Beijing for the Attendance of the Third Nuclear Security Summit and Visits of the Netherlands, France, Germany, Belgium, UNESCO Headquarters and EU Headquarters

In the morning of March 22, 2014, President Xi Jinping left Beijing by special plane for the Netherlands to attend the third Nuclear Security Summit in the Hague at the invitation of Prime Minister Mark Rutte of the Kingdom of Netherlands. Xi Jinping will pay state visits to the Kingdom of Netherlands, the Republic of France, the Federal Republic of Germany, and the Kingdom of Belgium, at the invitation of King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands, President Francois Hollande of France, President Joachim Gauck and Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany, and King Philippe of Belgium, as well pay the visits to the Headquarters of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) at the invitation of UNESCO Director-General Irina Bokova, to the European Union Headquarters at the invitation of the European Council President Herman Van Rompuy and European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso.

Members of President Xi Jinping's delegation include Peng Liyuan, wife of the President, Wang Huning, member of the Political Bureau and Director of the Policy Research Office of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, Li Zhanshu, member of the Political Bureau and Secretariat and Director of the General Office of the CPC Central Committee, and Yang Jiechi, the State Councilor.
